Description

This is a used/vintage modified 1971 Fender Music Master guitar. The item pictured is the one you will receive. It has been tested and gone over by the experts at our shop. When a guitar is purchased from us it undergoes a final setup check before shipping to ensure it’s playing optimally. It is then packed with care and shipped to your door! (But please be aware that it may need slight tweaks upon arrival due to weather differences, jostling during shipping, etc.). Please read the description carefully and check over all photos for condition and wear. We do our best to describe all items as best as possible and note any wear we find, but please be considerate that it is a used piece and it won’t be perfect (Unless noted as “Mint Condition” or “10/10” for condition). If you have any questions about this or any other piece of gear we have, please let us know and we’ll be happy to help!

Condition Notes:

– Condition: 6.5/10

– Fret wear: There’s a fair bit of fret wear currently. It could do with a dressing/level but still plays fairly clean if you don’t dig in a lot.

– Any wear of note: This is a player grade vintage guitar with a fair bit of wear, patina and some modifications. All of the wear is pretty standard. Mainly dings, dents, scratches and some light finish chips in a few areas. There is obviously a sticker on the face of the guitar. But it’s also fully functional and a great guitar! It’s showing its age beautifully with really nice finish checking throughout. Some close up shots of wear were taken in direct lighting as well to show the wear better. There have been a few modifications done to it as well, but they arguably make it a more usable guitar than it was originally. A previous owner had a 6-saddle Fender Telecaster bridge installed, along with a stray style bridge pickup and a 3-way pickup selector. Please see the note below for more info. There was routing required for these modifications, but it appears to have been done by a professional. That’s pretty much it. It’s a really sweet guitar with a bit of a history that can’t wait to be played!

– General notes: This is a really awesome little guitar! It has some obvious wear, but it’s a real player that’s been slightly modified (please see note below for details) to make it even more usable! The neck is a nice small feel that’s really fast and comfortable. The pickups are really sweet sounding and articulate. And it’s super light weight at only 6lb 5oz! But it’s truly a sweet guitar. It’s aged beautifully with some gorgeous checking and the finish (was probably White from the factory) has yellowed just right. Tons of vibe and mojo and just waiting to be played!

– Accessories included: Original hard shell case only.

Modification note:

– This guitar originally came with a single neck pickup and a 3-saddle bridge with brass barrel saddles, which is pretty limiting both sonically and intonation wise. A previous owner switched out the bridge with a Fender 6-saddle Telecaster bridge (original is NOT included) and added the strat bridge pickup with the 3-way pickup selector you currently see on the guitar. These mods allow you to cover way more sonic ground and makes intonating and setting up the guitar easier and way more precise! There was routing required for these modifications, but it appears to have been done by a professional. We aren’t sure what exact pickup is in the bridge position, but it sounds great and balances really well with the neck pickup! It’s a strat style pickup with 2 mounting screw holes and there’s a plate underneath it to adapt it to the 3 hole tele pickup mounting design of the bridge. And the 6-saddle bridge itself is a Fender bridge and definitely seems older. This bridge did originally come out in the early 70s as well, so it’s likely the guitar has been like this for a long time. But it’s all fully functional and sounding great!
